MEET THE ARTIST
artistic journey overview
In 2010, I returned to the creative arts through mixed media, combining acrylics with natural earth materials. At the time, I was an executive specializing in marketing and brand strategy. As the pull toward self-expression grew stronger, it became a priority, and in 2018 I chose early retirement to fully answer that calling.
Since then, I have expanded my portfolio to include sculpture, ceramic bowls and vessels, encaustic painting, and mixed media. I have studied through workshops and mentorships with contemporary artist Manzanares, watercolorist Chen Khee Chee in Asian expression, R. Zullo in animal structure, and S. Turner in the use of negative space to create striking landscapes. Alongside this intensive training, I am also a self-taught artist.
I have received multiple awards, including Best in Show, the Preserving Our Heritage award in North Carolina, and numerous first-place honors.
